About our hof
The Pastor Stockmannhof sits in the heart of Wittevrouwen, on the former Nefkens site. White townhouses stand around two green squares. Cars are parked underground, so the squares themselves are car-free: a place to play, sit outside and run into the neighbours.
How the hof came about
The first plan for the site proposed more than forty homes and a supermarket. During the consultation, local residents argued for fewer homes and underground parking. That became the final design: fewer homes, more space and a half-sunken car park beneath the hof.
The name
The name came from a neighbourhood competition. The hof is named after Pastor Stockmann of the Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk, who was known in the district for his social commitment.
The design
Mulleners + Mulleners Architecten designed the hof and Slokker built it, completing it in December 2004. The white façades were inspired by the small town of Thorn in Limburg. The homes sit slightly above street level, which gives calm and privacy. Every home has its own garden, and we share the squares. Hardly any two houses are the same.
Living together
As an owners’ association we run the hof together, from technical maintenance to keeping the squares clean. Many of the first residents still live here.
